Privacy Policy
Last Updated:
FriendLock, an iOS application developed by Mitness Limited ("we", "us", or "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle your personal information.
Information We Handle
FriendLock allows users to:
- Take selfies with friends to unlock social apps
- Save photos in a memories gallery with captions
- Synchronize memories across devices using iCloud
Photos are stored locally on your device and optionally synchronized with your iCloud account. We do not collect or have access to any photos or user data.
Face Verification
FriendLock uses face detection technology solely to count how many people are visible during app unlocking. This face verification happens completely on-device, in real-time, and no facial data is ever stored, retained, or shared with third parties. We don't identify specific individuals (facial recognition) - we only count faces present to verify that the user has a friend physically present as part of our social accountability feature.
Data Storage and Security
All user data in FriendLock is saved exclusively on your device and/or your personal iCloud account. FriendLock does not upload or store any data on our servers, nor do we have access to your data. Protecting your device and iCloud account is essential to maintain your data security.
Data Sharing
FriendLock does not share your data with any third parties. We do not have authorization or access to your personal data.
Your Rights
You have full control of your data within the app. Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all data stored locally on your device. Data stored in iCloud can be managed through your iCloud settings.
